Darren Rak
Owner & CEO
Darren Rak, owner and CEO of The Adventure Park of Rockwall, is all about bringing generations of families together to have some fun and make some memories. It started in 2011 when he founded the Oasis Beach and Tennis Club, where guests could enjoy a spectacular resort-style swimming pool, sand volleyball courts, and indoor and outdoor tennis courts.
In 2014, Rak partnered with Urban Air as a franchisee, adding the indoor park for kids to the property. Rak’s location became the nation’s fourth Urban Air park. Today, there are more than 200 Urban Air locations throughout the United States.
Over the past four years, Rak has converted all the Oasis tennis courts into pickleball courts, making the Oasis Pickleball Club of Rockwall the largest pickleball facility in the state of Texas, with 42 courts. This includes eight covered courts and two championship courts.
Oasis is host to the largest and most prestigious tournaments in the United States, making Rockwall the “Pickleball Capital of Texas.” Recently, Rak added a new state-of-the-art pro shop featuring brand names such as Maui Jim, lululemon, Skechers, fila, Selkirk, and more. The club also has teaching professionals available for lessons and drills.
Oasis and Urban Air together make up The Adventure Park of Rockwall, which employs more than 50 staff ranging in age from 16 to 65. It is open daily for members as well as open play for all ages, creating a social setting bringing all generations together
Now that Rak has retired from the medical field, he spends more time with his hard-working team. But he also enjoys spending time at his ranch, raising cattle and hay, tending to his horses and working the land, hunting, and traveling. He especially cherishes the time he gets to spend with his grandchildren and family.
